On a typical night in 1937, Al was cleaning up after an evening at work when he went to wash his hands at an old-fashioned two handled faucet. A sudden burst of hot water made him jump back in alarm. That moment was the inspiration of the single-handed faucet, an invention that would revolutionize plumbing. It took Al 2 years to finalize his invention and in 1947 manufacturing began, the first single handed faucets sold for $12 each.  Moen plumbing was in business! The successes kept coming, in 1950 Al’s kitchen faucets were chosen for Hotpoint’s prefabricated kitchens and in 1970 a new “boutique” line was offered for the upscale consumer.

Patent after patent, award after award, and fast forwarding 80 years the company Al founded is thriving as an industry leader for both commercial and residential properties. Over the years the product line has expanded from the single-handed faucet to wide array of kitchen and bath fixtures, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, and accessories.
